Y: da3 kai1 means turn on,
B:  da3 kai1,
Y: dian4 shi4 is TV,
B:  dian4 shi4. 
Y: da3 kai1 dian4 shi4
B: da3 kai1 dian4 shi4 turn on TV.

Y: So, which channel B?
B: I’ve got the answer, but I don’t know how to ask that question. Firstly, what’s the word for channel?
Y: it’s pin2 dao4. 
B: pin2 dao4  And, which channel?
Y: 哪个频道？
B: nei3 ge4 pin2 dao4?
Y: nei3 ge4 means which,
B:  nei3 ge4
Y:  pin2 dao4 means channel,
B:  pin2 dao4
Y: nei3 ge4 pin2 dao4
B: nei3 ge4 pin2 dao4 which channel?
Y: or you can say nei3 ge4 tai2, since tai2 also means channel.

Y: ji2 dian3 means what time,

B: kai1 shi3.

B:  ji2 dian3 kai1 shi3?  What time is it on?

B:  you3 shen2 me
Y: hao3 kan4 means good,
B:  hao3 kan4.
Y: jie2 mu4 means program,
B: jie2 mu4.
Y: ma is put at the end of a question.
B: ma,
