　　In its first report of an expected annual series, a unit set up by bank president James Wolfensohn to root out abuse of bank funds said it had investigated more than 2,000 cases over 5 years involving bank staff and outsiders.

　　Maarten de Jong, who heads the 50 lawyers, forensic auditors and investigators in the Department of Institutional Integrity, said publication of the report was another step in the bank's increased corruption fight.
