 M: Dàjiā hǎo. Huānyíng shōutīng Xiànzài Xué Hànyǔ. Wǒ shì ML. S: Wǒ shì Stuart. Jīn tiān shì fùxí kè. M: Listen out for 安排 ‘organize' ānpái, 生日宴会 ‘birthday party'，shēngrì yànhuì. S: 打算 ‘intend', dǎsuàn, and ‘first', which is 先. Now for our chat. Tīng, and chóngfù. M: Now we want to organize a birthday party. 现在我们想安排一个生日宴会， xiànzài wǒmén xiǎng ānpái yíge shēngrì yànhuì. S: 谁的生日宴会 shuí de shēngrì yànhuì? M: 我的生日宴会 wǒ de shēngrì yànhuì. S: 你的生日是哪一天？Nǐ de shēngrì shì nǎyìtiān? M: 下周末，星期六 xià zhōumò, xīngqī lìu. S: 你打算干什么 nǐ dǎsuàn gàn shénme? M: 我们先吃晚饭 wǒmen xiān chī wǎn fàn.吃完饭之后，我们去唱卡拉OK。 chì wán fàn zhīhòu, wǒmen qùchàng kǎlāOK. S: 你请客吗 nǐqǐngkèma? M: We'll go Dutch. 我们AA制。 S: Now, using xian1 and ran2hou4, everybody say, First we'll go to the zoo, then go to a karaoke bar. M: Hěn hǎo. 我们先去动物园，然后去唱卡拉OK. Wǒmen xiān qù dòngwu yuán, ránhòu qù chàng kǎlāOK. S: And finally, zui4hou, finally, I intend to go home. M: Méi cuò. 最后我打算回家。Zuìhòu wǒ dǎsuàn huíjiā. S: And in the previous lesson we talked about huǒchēpiào, train tickets, huǒchēpiào. M: Like, Hard seat, yìngzuò, and hard sleeper, yìngwò. S: And ‘comfortable' shūfú. ML asked … M: What kind of ticket shall we buy? 咱们买哪种票? Zánmen mài něi zhǒng piào? S: The cheapest! 最便宜的 zuì piányi de. M: 最便宜的火车票是硬座 zuì piányi de huǒchē piào shì yìngzuò. S: 但是我要睡觉 dàn shì, wǒ yào shuìjiào. M: 好，那就买硬卧车票 hǎo, nàjiù mǎi yìngwò chēpiào. S: 硬卧舒服吗 yìngwò shūfú ma? M: 马马虎虎 mǎma huhu. S: Horse horse tiger tiger, mǎma hǔhu! S: We hope you understood everything. Like, what does this mean: M: 咱们买哪种票? zánmen mǎi něi zhǒng piào? S: Méicuò. We buy what kind of ticket? 种 ZHONG zhǒng, remember, here means ‘kind' or ‘type'. M: But, usage is everything. If I say, What kind of animal is that? I would usually say, 那是什么动物 that is what animal? nàshì shénme dòngwù? I wouldn't use zhǒng. S: But to say, I can speak several languages 语言 ‘language' yǔyán, I say, 我会说几种语言 ‘I know a few kinds language'. Note that I can leave out ‘speak'. So I can also say, wǒ huì jǐ zhǒng yǔyán.
