A palm-sized rat ran up a girl's pants and bite her while the girl was waiting for service in a McDonald's restaurant in Shenyang City, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning province.
A doctor says that the rat left four cuts on the girl's right leg. Though she received an antibacterial shot soon after, the college girl, named Xiao Yu, was still frightened by the awful experience and kept asking her mom if she was going to die.
A McDonald's duty manager took the girl to the hospital and had her write down the whole process of the accident. Except for paying the medical bill, the restaurant didn't give any other response on the matter. A senior official from McDonald's says that they are investigating the whole thing and promise to give a reply soon.
Law expert Li Zhenge says that according to related regulations, it's the restaurant's responsibility to ensure their customers' safety, and in this case, the customer could ask for compensation from the restaurant.
