Northwest China's Qinghai Province will highlight environmental protection in the region where the Yangtze River, Yellow River and Lancangjiang River originate at its 2010 World Expo display, officials said on Monday.
Qinghai will explore the indispensable role of the region in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in forming a complete ecological system and how civilisations along the three rivers flourish.
The region is crowned the "Water Tower of China" and the province hoped to raise support and awareness via the Expo showcase.
Provinces and cities in China will get 600 square meters each to showcase varied traditions. The exhibitions of national participants will be held in a joint pavilion in the China Pavilion section. Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan will have separate pavilions. |
